FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT PETS DO YOU TREAT?
Yes, we treat animals of all kinds, including wildlife and exotic pets, such as reptiles, rabbits, birds and more.
DO YOU DO ACCOUNTS, BULK BILL OR OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
We do not offer accounts and we require payment in full of all oustanding invoices on the completion of the consultation or at the time of pick up, following surgery procedures.
Unlike your family doctor, who is government funded, we are unable to offer bulk billing.
We do offer payment plan options, including Vetpay (please see our payment options page on our website).
If you think that you may be financially unable to cover the medical costs of the vet visit, please ensure that you discuss this with a staff member BEFORE the consultation or surgery.
DO YOU OFFER PET INSURANCE?
No we do not offer pet insurance, however we can provide you with a list of pet insurance providers details.
We do offer our own exclusive membership loyalty program and all details can be found on our payment options page under the banner 'FURFEES', or alternatively contact one of our lovely staff members who would be more than happy to discuss the details with you.
DO YOU DO HOUSE CALLS?
If you are within the Bunbury region, we can offer home visits, depending on the situation. Sometimes we are unable to provide that service, depending on the problems you have with your pet and the requirement for medical equipment and access to our pharmacy here at the clinic, so sometimes we may need to see your pet here in clinic. We will however try and work with you as much as we can.
WHAT DO I DO IF I FIND A STRAY ANIMAL?
Please give the clinic a call on 08 9721 6778 and we can do the best we can in reuniting pets to their owners. We can scan for a microchip and look up owners details and hopefully get that animal home, safe and sound.
If the animal is unfortunately not microchipped, we are legally obliged to contact the shire where the animal was located, as they will hold that animal for the required time period and if no owner is to come forward, then the shire works directly with the rescue groups to help rehome that animal.
Only very few animals are euthanised through the pound and this is usually due to aggression or health concerns. Otherwise the ranger services work together with the rescue groups to get the animals rehomed.
DO YOU OFFER BOARDING FOR PETS?
When it comes to boarding we are unfortunately not set up properly to offer extensive boarding services, so the answer is no.
There are some cases where we may be able to board your pet for a very short time, if they require medicating or there is an emergency within the home that requires you to find them suitable housing. Please contact the clinic and we can discuss this further.
DO YOU TREAT INJURED WILDLIFE?
Yes we treat all wildlife in need. Call the clinic on 08 9721 6778 and we will assist with the treatment of injured and orphaned wildlife free of charge.
